Welcome February Welcome to the Month of Love, Happiness, and Renewal! February radiates a powerful energy of purification, making it the perfect time to clear and refresh both your personal energy and the energy of your home. It’s a sacred opportunity to release the stagnant, embrace the vibrant, and set the tone for the months ahead with intention and clarity. This month is especially potent for rituals and spells focused on health, vitality, and inner harmony. With Valentine’s Day celebrating love in all its forms, February offers a beautiful blend of magickal opportunities to nurture your heart, home, and spirit. Here are a few inspirations to align with February’s energy: Purify Your Space: Take a moment to smudge, sprinkle blessed water, or use an essential oil spray to cleanse your home. Open the windows (even if just for a moment!) to let the old energy out and welcome fresh inspiration in. Celebrate Love: While Valentine's Day often focuses on romantic love, consider expanding this energy to embrace self-love, sisterly love, and gratitude for the relationships that enrich your life. A simple ritual could include lighting a red or pink candle and speaking words of appreciation for yourself and those you hold dear. Health Magick: February's purifying energy makes it an ideal time to focus on wellness. Brew herbal teas with mint or lemon balm for clarity, or rosemary and thyme for strength and healing. As you sip, envision the tea nourishing your body and renewing your spirit. May February bring you love, joy, and abundant magick! Blessed be, Gillian "February is a gentle reminder that even in the heart of winter, the seeds of love, hope, and renewal stir beneath the surface, waiting to bloom into brilliance." |

Imbolc A Celebration of Light and Renewal Imbolc, celebrated on February 1st or 2nd, marks the midway point between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox. This ancient Celtic festival honours Brigid, the goddess of poetry, healing, and smithcraft. It's a time to celebrate the first stirrings of spring, the return of longer days, and the light that warms the earth. A Bit of History The word Imbolc is thought to derive from the Old Irish word imbolg, meaning "in the belly," referring to pregnant ewes and the promise of new life. It's a season of hope, renewal, and preparation for growth. Brigid's sacred fire was tended in ancient Ireland by priestesses, and today, her flame continues to symbolize inspiration, creativity, and healing. Simple Imbolc Rituals to Try Light a Candle: To honour the growing light, light a white or yellow candle. Reflect on what you wish to bring to life in the coming months, and let the candle's flame inspire your intentions. Create a Brigid's Cross: Weave one from straw, wheat, or even paper. Hang it above your doorway or on your altar for protection and blessings. Prepare an Offering: Leave milk, bread with honey, or oats on your altar or outside as an offering to Brigid. This gesture invites her blessings of health, creativity, and abundance into your home. Cleanse and Bless Your Space: Sweep away old energy and bless your home with intentions for peace and prosperity. Sprinkle salted water around your space or burn cleansing herbs like rosemary or sage. Plant Seeds of Intention: Literally or figuratively, plant seeds to symbolize new beginnings. As you plant them, visualize your dreams taking root and growing. May Imbolc's light inspire your heart and home! |
